3 years later — a tour of my personal home ✨ We have done so much from fresh paint, new carpet runners, structural updates, furnishings and decor, overhaul of the front and backyard landscaping, three bathroom renovations and so much more — and yet, there’s still more home projects on my list.
I’m fortunate to see inside and tour many homes that are incredibly beautiful. But I also get to hear the stories behind the homes. Many have been lived in for years before renovating or decorated over a period of years. In other words, they weren’t done overnight. And in some cases there are spaces that still aren’t decorated or renovated, and we just don’t include those spaces in home tours. All this to say, the homes you see in magazines and online should give ideas, inspiration and concrete examples, but they shouldn’t rob you of the joy of your own home and what you have. Home takes time. And home is a home because of the memories, moments and people that fill them. Relax, give yourself space to dream and look past the outdated sofa so you don’t miss the whole point of “home.”
I didn’t have my kids pick up toys in the backyard or move the babies swing or make my husband leave his spot on the patio watching Saturday morning football to film. Because honestly, these are the memories of everyday life that I don’t want to forget. These are the precious moments that make home.

We made it! Two months as a family of SIX! We couldn’t have done it without our village of friends, family, neighbors, church community and so many of you! Thank you for checking-in, dropping off meals, stopping by with coffee, taking the older kids for playdates, sending us our favorite Costco snacks, folding laundry with me, gifts of precious baby clothes, allowing me to show up to fun dinners with a newborn, picking my kids up from school and so much more. I am so thankful for the community of people surrounding our family and know what a gift it truly is.
I’m also so thankful for a job that allows me to be both mom and creative. I adore being a mom and I get so much life from sharing with you through Garden & Grace. YOU make what I do meaningful, engaging and life-giving. I have loved getting to know so many of you over the years and whether we’ve had the opportunity to meet in-person or just digitally, know how much I appreciate you!
