These panels were the inspiration for painting the ceiling pink and recovering the chairs in a rich green-blue fabric. The trim on the curtains was inspired by the deep burgundy on the perched bird’s feathers.
I had them framed at @campaniafinemoulding in an antique gold bamboo frame that pulls in the gold from the chandelier and mirror. I also love how it picks up on the antique gold edge on the dining room chairs. Those were a hunt but finally found this set of 8 at an antique shop in Nashville called @_the_kscollection. I wanted something to soften the mahogany wood table and buffet but also didn’t want something new. I absolutely love the way they turned out!
I worked with @annepearsondesign to pull everything together and cannot wait for it to be the backdrop to dinner parties and family gatherings this Christmas and for years to come!

Charleston on my mind! And this historic downtown Charleston renovation and design project by @melissaervininteriordesign and @beauclowneyarchitects is everything I love about the holy city.
I’m struck by the neutral tones and the balance of formal and laid-back southern style that the home embodies. It’s a true representation of the city that built it and no surprise the double porch ceilings are painted haint blue (last picture)!

Oh, how I love Christmas! And this year I’m creating holiday cheer in new ways throughout my home — including bringing a little of the outside in!
@jamestfarmer once said during a floral arrangement demonstration that he snipped some of the greenery from a Walgreen’s bush! It stuck with me. Authentic beauty comes when we let ourselves create without overthinking or complicating it.
As we move into the holiday season, may we all enjoy what’s right in our own backyards (or in my case my MIL’s who lives down the street and graciously let me clip from it 🤍) and take time to make something that brings life to us and our homes.
