I’ve been dreaming of adding a banquette in our breakfast area since the day we toured our home.
I’m convinced it will not only add coziness and and depth to our kitchen but will also provide a kid-friendly, space-saving sitting area for our family to gather. And this spring it’s finally going to happen.
Stay tuned!
Until then, here are some inspiring banquette’s that will have you dreaming too.

I love these examples of different heights, designs and finishing touches like the nailhead trim.
While you typically see banquette‘s tucked between walls, it’s just as pretty and practical to add it along a wall or set of windows.

These next two are some of my favorite! I love how they are tailored to a young family and provide a place for kids to play, explore and be creative.
Formally, informal. Can you imagine dinner parties and family gatherings in this grand yet cozy space? It takes banquette’s to a whole new level.

Rounding out this week’s blog with a Kara Miller design featured in Southern Living. This space was originally dark and lacking character but was brought back to life with paint, calming and warm textures and a large functional banquette.
