Private Coastal Home Just Hit the Market

Spring Island, SC | It’s the song of the south, heaven on earth, escape from reality type of place. With 1,100 acres of protected nature preserve, Spring Island is a private sanctuary to enjoy the lowcountry of South Carolina with luxury amenities and activities for the whole family. Because the island is private, it’s rare to get a peak inside but this home just hit the market so come along on a tour of one of the lowcountry’s treasures.

Can you image this being an old dairy barn? That’s exactly what this now lowcountry residence used to be. 20 years ago the owners asked Historical Concepts to transform it into a family home while keeping the authentic original architecture in mind. Historical Concepts kept the sliding barn doors which open to a large breezeway or “dog trot” that divides the two main wings of the home.

On the one side is the guests’ or children’s rooms and bathrooms and on the other side is a great room with a kitchen and dining area, family room, large porch, and the main bedroom suite.

The aged brick, tongue and groove walls and pine floors are just a few of the design elements that make this home so special. The laidback yet luxury materials used on this home fit with the lifestyle shared on Spring Island, SC.

Doesn’t this just invite you to grab a cup of coffee and a book? I can just imagine sitting on this porch with the rain hitting the tin roof and the fire crackling in the background.

This home was built for comfortable family moments away from the hustle and bustle of life.

The landscaping material used at Spring Island is natural and works with nature. It creates this sense of yesteryears and a slower way of life that is what I think a lot of us long for.
