12 Photos That Prove English Antiques Never Go Out of Style

From bowfront chests to handsome buffets, brown English antiques are one of my favorite ways to dress up any room. I love how sophisticated the wood tones feel, and there’s a certain formality with old furniture that’s irreplaceable. Entryways, tucked between a pair of twin beds, along a formal dining room wall—I’ve yet to find a bad place for high-quality case goods.

I have several antiques in my home, including a tall bowfront chest in my primary bedroom. I tend to look for a curved face, aged pulls and movement in the wood—this combination strikes a balance between feeling storied and stately. Plus, I love the thrill of the hunt when it comes to finding the perfect antique to polish off a room.

Here are some of my favorite charm-filled rooms where the antiques shine.
